A link wheel is essentially Michael Campbell’s mini net concept from the mid 1990s taken forward to incorporate web 2.0 properties. The advantage of using web 2.0 properties is the fact that they are free for using, as well as having some good PR power behind them. It is essential; of course, to only use those webs 2.0 properties that have do follow links. Link wheels are created using the kind of web 2.0 properties that permit an article to be published; this means that the book marking type of web 2.0 property is not suitable. That includes the likes of Digg and Mixx, for example. The types of web 2.0 properties we use are ones like Squiddo, Hub Pages, Blogger Word press and others. They all permit an article to be published with outgoing “dofollow” links. The basic idea is simple. Around six web 2.0 properties in total are made, each one with a unique and relevant article on it. Each web 2.0 properly links to its neighbour in a wheel fashion, and it has one further outgoing link that points to the page or site that is being promoted. Each outgoing link uses highly relevant anchor text. Each page or site being promoted is not limited to just one web 2.0 properly.
